VBU Consulting SMLLC owns this website. I, Vasil Buraliev, offer professional services through this legal entity. The company provides services in project management, product management, digital transformation, and software development consulting.

The website’s logical design incorporates two elements that should introduce the company and me as a professional, present its services, and showcase the experience and competencies through blog articles, which, at the same time, contribute to the global knowledge, expertise, opinion, advice, and updates on topics related to the software development industry.

Started in the ’90s as a freelancer, and after 20 years of suffering, pain, joy, and hard work, I got back to the roots

Since my first job in 2001, I have dedicated over 24 years to wearing various hats as a professional in the software development industry. I’m a Founder, Product Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst, Operations Manager, IT Director, and, in the early days of my career, I was a developer. I was part of eight companies, and the collaborations involved more than 70 clients across the globe. I worked with them to implement over 100 projects, achieving a success rate of over 95%, which transformed business concepts into scalable software solutions.

The first-lifetime sensation

Since I was a kid, I have been interested in video games and programming. It all started in 1984 (seven-year-old child) when Dragan Nichota, an assistant of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Information Technologies in Skopje and a friend of my parents, gave me his Commodore 64 during the summer so that I could play some games. Of course, I had no idea what a personal computer was.

That was a period when I saw a video game on a personal computer for the first time. That was the video game “International Soccer“. And that is my most fantastic sensation I have experienced in my life, along with the moments when I became a father (❤️: Maxim and Ana) for the first and second times. When Nichota plugged in the International Soccer cartridge, and I grabbed the VIC 1311 (the first Commodore’s joystick) in my hands, I felt deeply in my heart that I would dedicate my life to this box, made of silicon, metal, and plastic, called a computer.

That was an era in which I developed a strong love for video games and programming, thanks to my parents and my uncle Temis Buraliev, who bought me a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K, and then an Atari 800XE. That was a period when I started learning Atari BASIC from the German manual that came with the Atari.

Passions

  • Music
Along with a love for software development, I also developed a strong passion for music.
  • Video games
A significant part of my life when I was young was spent playing video games and board games. I was playing arcade games, strategy games, and football managers on my Atari, Amiga, and PCs.
Today, I’m buying video and board games much more than I play them. My favourite video games of all time are Joust, Moon Patrol, Green Beret, Sid Meier’s Civilization, Total Club Manager, X COM, and FIFA Manager.
